DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: He has Snake Bites, and a tattoo of an ivy wreath wrapping around his left wrist, though it’s usually covered by his clothing. Also has scars on his abdomen, legs and arms and a burn scar covering his upper back from the right shoulder to just before his spine, ending halfway down his side.
PHYSICAL APPEARENCE:
Reian is average height, and while he does have muscles good for fighting and dance, they are more lithe then bulky. Combined with the natural, more feminine, curves he has it helps immensely with his love for girl clothes, which is what he wears for the most part. He has black, straight hair that he usually has pinned up in some way in order to show the piercings in his ears. He also has hazel eyes that are always surrounded by some kind of eyeliner and shadow at the very least and appear to shift in color depending on what kind of clothing/make-up he is wearing at the time.
He is unnaturally pale considering he is half-Japanese, though he has usually just attributed that to leaning more towards his mothers American heritage and doesn’t think much on it beyond that, with the exception of cursing his genetics every time he is out in the sun as his skin never seems to hold a tan.
CLOTHING STYLE:
Rei much prefers to wear feminine clothing, though he will wear male clothing on occasion if he feels like it (or is forced to). His favorite thing to do with his clothing is to find ways of combining very bright clothes with very dark ones. Depending on the color he is wearing, it is usually a good indicator of his mood: Bright colors meaning he’s happy, while darker ones mean he’s depressed. One constant piece of clothing you can usually see him wearing on a regular day is his ankle length, black trench coat. He received it a couple years back as a “prize” while he was in the gang, and has continued to keep it with him to remind him of what he wouldn’t go back to.
He wears surprisingly little jewelry; usually just a simple black cloth choker with a chain hanging from it, connected to either side of the neck, with three flower charms attached to it that he received as a gift from his little sister. (She gives him a new charm each year for his birthday, each meaning something different)

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Flamboyant to the point of ridiculousness, Reian brings new meaning to the term “flamingly gay”. He is no way ashamed of who he is, and is loud and proud when it comes to his orientation. Matched with this is his apparent never-ending energy and hyperactivity. This is not to say that he doesn’t have his moments of seriousness; they are simply few and far between. But when the occasion calls for it he is able to easily calm himself in order to be able to think clearly for as long as needed.
While usually very happy, an unfortunate vice of his is that he is very reliant on having physical contact with people and will usually be seen hanging onto Minami or whoever he feels he is close to. The longer he goes without some form of physical contact the quieter and more withdrawn he becomes. The lack of contact makes him become increasingly lonely, reminding him of the days on the street when he would be left alone for sometimes days at a time for a “job”.
Reian is naturally a kind person, though he can be very sarcastic when playing around. He believes strongly in getting to know a person before deciding how he feels about that person. However, even if he may be kind for the most part, if someone he does not know well or does not trust starts prying into his past or other business that he feels is private, he is not averse to offering them a polite “shut the fuck up and leave me alone”, and proceeding to avoid them to the best of his ability.
The final, and probably most important piece of his personality would have to be his protectiveness over his sister and those he trusts. For a friend that he trusts, Reian becomes unfailingly loyal and will do most anything to protect and help them. When it comes to his sister, however, his loyalty and protective instincts hit a completely different level. He will literally do everything in his power to protect his sister, and has been known to become violent towards anyone he feels is treating her unfairly. Truly the best way to get on his enemies list is to cause harm to Minami, whether emotionally or physically, he will come seeking blood for anything done to harm her.

HISTORY:
After his mother’s death when he was about seven, his father remarried when he was ten to his step-mother, who brought in his step-sister Minami, who was only eight at the time. Reian immediately adored his new little sister, and did anything in order to make her happy. They became very close, so when Reian came out that he was almost completely certain he was gay to her when he was thirteen, she supported him and helped him tell their parents. Unfortunately, they didn’t react in quite the same way.
Disgusted with what they had raised, Reian was thrown out of his house, and Minami banned from ever seeing him again. He lived on the streets for the next year and a half, and it was only a few months into that time that he was found by the leader of a local gang, Shimizu Yuu. Yuu took him in and trained him how to fight and how to “earn his keep”. Unfortunately for Reian, “earning his keep” meant becoming an essential boy-toy to Yuu.
During the next year and a bit, Reian lived with the gang, moving from house to house, never staying in one place for very long. During this time Reian managed to keep an eye on Minami, making sure she was safe. Yuu, as a “favor”, had a few contacts keeping track of her when Reian wasn’t able to. It was from one of these contacts that Reian discovered his step-mother had left his father, leaving Minami with him. Not long after it became apparent that Minami was being abused by his father. Reian became determined after this to save his sister, but Yuu wouldn’t allow it unless she could prove to be “useful”. Refusing to allow his baby sister to suffer the same fate as him, he tried to think of a way to save her.
A little after his fifteenth birthday Reian met Keith, a close cousin on his deceased mother side who had been searching for him after discovering he had been thrown out for being homosexual. Keith helped him escape from the gang, with quite a bit of pain and blood loss on both sides, eventually managing to escape and hide him away. Afterwards, they banded together to save Minami from his step-father, finally managing to get the local authorities to take notice of what had been happening.
After receiving parental rights over both of them, Keith took them across Japan and enrolled them in a boarding school. While there, Reian met Sousei, his fast friend who also played a big part in helping Minami learn to cope with what had happened to her. However, once word got around that Reian’s old gang was searching for them, Keith decided the safer path would be to take Reian and Minami with him back to his home country, America; obviously this eventually lead to them settling in Trenton, ready to try again.
