PHYSICAL APPEARENCE:

Lukas is a tall, thin, 17 year old male. He has curly dark brown, almost black hair that unless copious amounts of gel are applied to, sticks up in a “Jew fro.” He has multiple scars, including one long, thin line on the back of his right hand from when he was 11 and accidently stabbed himself in the hand. He is mainly Caucasian, with a slight bit of Spanish mixed in, but not enough to alter his appearance any. He walks with a very unique gait because of a very mild case of Femoral Anteversion, which makes his left leg turn inwards slightly. It is not serious enough to interfere with his life, so he doesn’t want to get surgery.

CLOTHING STYLE:

Luke is one who doesn’t bother with keeping up on the latest styles. He wears whatever makes him feel comfortable, which is mostly jeans and tee-shirts. He only wears one piece of jewelry, which is a bracelet his Mother gave him before she passed. He loves jackets, especially leather ones and he owns four different ones. His Father tells him he dresses like a homeless kid, but he really can’t bring himself to care.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:

Luke is a very jumpy kid. He doesn’t like surprises, people who like to sneak up on him, or loud noises. Although It is childish, he is still afraid of fireworks and has panic attacks every fourth of July. He has learned that alcohol leads to nothing but pain and horror movies have all of his least favorite things. He is terrified of fire and often has dreams of spontaneously combusting. His fear of needles, which prevents him from getting surgery for his leg, also makes him more volatile at hospitals.

Lukas loves the smell of lavender because it reminds him of his mother, who always wore lavender perfume. The color green comforts him and makes him feel safe, as does music. He loves to take pictures and draw; his favorite subjects are people going about their everyday lives. He will sometimes take a picture, then draw it, helping him to perfect human emotions.

He is generally pretty friendly, but is quick to show his dark side if you threaten someone he cares about. With a protective streak a mile long and a very determined mindset, if you hurt someone he loves, he won’t give up until he sees you suffer, and while he is a pacifist, he won’t stand by and let someone get hurt. He is very choosey with his friends and is very slow to trust. He is not a pushover and doesn’t give up.

HISTORY:

Lukas Samuel Miller was born on June 28th, 1993 to high school sweethearts Theresa Michelle and Michael James Miller. Fresh out of high school, the eighteen year olds married, Theresa already eight and a half months pregnant. To the outside world, they were the perfect couple, the devoted wife, the working husband and their new child. But on the inside, it was a swirling vortex of anger, hate and adultery. His father was having an affair with a coworker, his mother, with the neighbor. Luke grew up confused about his family and when he was two, his father packed them up and they left for Trenton, California. In California things did not get any better, His father found a new mistress and his mother a new man, and as Lukas grew, so did the fighting. He can still remember the night when he was 6, sitting in his bed, waiting for his parents to stop fighting so he could fall asleep when he heard his father slap his mother. She came upstairs, tears streaking down her face, gathered some clothes for the two of them and they left. They wound up at the home of Theresa’s lover, Zachary Heath Garter. Tucked into the sofa, he fell asleep. This cycle would continue until Luke was 8, then his mother left his father for good, moving in with Zachary and getting a divorce. They split the custody, and when Luke was 9, his mother married Zach and became Theresa Michelle Garter. His Father didn’t like the idea that his mother had left him for another man and took his anger out on his son. It started as just a slap here and a punch there, but it reached a peak when Luke turned 11.

Theresa discovered she was pregnant with a boy, she told Luke that he was going to be a big brother. But all was not well; Theresa was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. She was placed on Dialasis, and managed to deliver a healthy baby boy a month early, on February 2nd, named Joey Marcus Garter. Unfortunately, Theresa passed away about 4 months later, two days before her eldest son’s twelfth birthday. After the funeral, Zach took his baby and moved to Kansas to live with his parents, leaving Lukas at the mercy of his father. As the abuse got worse, Luke got to be a better actor. He also developed a love of photography. As an apology for a beating where his father had broken his wrist, Michael bought his son a top of the line camera when he was 15.

Luke is now 17 and the abuse has not gotten any better. His step-father just moved back to Trenton with his little brother. Lukas is hoping to get close to his brother so that he can make sure that his Zach is treating him right. He secretly longs that Zach will notice something amiss about him and take the initiative to help him, but he doesn’t see it actually happening.
