The day was nice. The sky was painted baby blue with a few whispy clouds hanging in the air. There was a light breeze with a mocha smell on it. The grass bended gently, and the trees made a light rustling sound. After the long days of dreary skies and drizzling rain, it was a very, very nice day.
Kodi stepped onto the grass. The courtyard was probably his favorite place. It was calm and there was always a place to sit, as long as you didn't come during lunch time. Otherwise you were pretty much screwed, and the once quiet place would turn into a rowdy town square for those who were eating lunch.
He walked onto the cobbled stone that filled most of the courtyard, listening as his shoes made a 'tak'ing sound when they hit the stone lightly. He grinned at the sound, laughing to himself. If someone of his caliber of idioticness had stumbled upon him, he would be called crazy. Well, it would deffinetly look like he was, anyways.
He sat at one of the stone tables, running his fingers over the intracate details on the edges of it. Just because Kodi was a total spazz didn't mean he couldn't appriciate true art, be it everlasting or a fleeting glance. Both were true art, in their own forms.
"Cucuburra sits in an old gum tree, eating all the gum drops he can see. Laugh, cucuburra, laugh, cucuburra~!" he sang lightly, remembering the song his teacher had taught him when he was in third grade. It was probably years too young for him, but it was the kind of person Kodi was.
It wasn't long before his attention wondered to a small bird sitting on the edge of another table across the courtyard. He watched as it chirpped every now and then, before jumping and flapping it's wings. Kodi copied the movement, his vision fixed on the bird, until he heard a voice behind him, causing him to freeze with his arms in the air.
He turned around, placing his arms down. "Can you repeat that? I didn't hear you." he said, grinning. He didn't feel embarassed with his previous actions. It was who he was, and he wasn't going to feel embarassed about those things. That phase was over, and had been before he started his freshman year. "Oh! Isaac!" he said happily. He knew this guy from last year, and it was nice to see him again. So far they hadn't run into each other.

Frolicking through the courtyard, Isaac chased after a butterfly, trampling over little blades of grass that stuck out between the cobble stone. He had been in large area for at least an hour now, one thing he liked about being an upperclassman was having unsupervised study period, he could do whatever he darn well pleased; which suited him just fine. Reaching out with his hands he tried to grab the butterfly but had no luck. However, Isaac kept chasing in hopes of catching it until his shoe caught on one of the cobblestones and he fell over. Landing flat on his face, Isaac stayed there for at least a minute before he decided to get up. Pushing up quickly, he lifted his hand to touch his face making sure there was no blood, smiling when he felt nothing he started walking again, going towards the middle of the yard where it was grass and not the cobblestone frame surrounding it. Looking at the flowers, he pulled a sun flower out a bit and smelt it, after which he used his fingers and pulled apart one of the petals and stuck his finger in in order to retrieve five sunflower seeds. Smiling, he dropped the seeds into his mouth and chewed, sun flower seeds were delicious in the fall, right after the plants were fully grown. Swallowing he found his way over to a stone bench and lay down. Looking up at the sky, Isaac watched the clouds role by, it was a hobby of his. He watched a cloud that looked a lot like a rocket ship merge with another cloud that had a faint resemblance of his dog Cargo, and isaac's pearly whites shined through his smile. Sometimes he wished he could take Cargo to school with him, alas, it was a against school rules unless he happened to be blind. But, seeing as his dog was just as hyper active as he was, he highly doubted he could ever be used as a seeing eye dog. Sighing, Isaac tried to cross his arm behind his head and get comfortable, but he was interrupted by the sound of footsteps and someone else's voice. Disturbed, Isaac fell off from his bench to the ground, and quickly jumped back onto his feet to get a better examination of who it was. It took him a few moments, but recognition finally took hold and Isaac's smile grew even wider. Waving back and fourth as quickly as possible, Isaac ran forward towards the boy, crossing in front of his path of vision to stop the guy. "Hi Kodi!" Opening his arms, Isaac pulled the kid into a large bear hug for at least a minute before letting go. Isaac was the type of guy who liked hugs, he was a very touchy feely type of person with all his friends and even if he had never gotten to know Kodi super well last year, he did consider the kid a friend. He was like a cuddly little teddy bear, and also reminded Isaac a lot of a black labrador. Certain people Isaac met reminded him of dogs and those were the best types of people and he always wanted to get to know them more, thus on the spot he made the decision. He was going to become very very good friends with Kodi. He nodded when he heard his name, "How was your summer? Mine was pretty good, I got to go to the water park and the beach! And then I tasted this weird type of dorito, it's spicy and taste like jalapeno's. Spoiler, do not get it, they are disgusting and make your tongue burn and it's not fun. But I bought them at least seven times over the summer and kept trying to break my record of ow many I could eat without needing milk. I think I got to 57 chips last week." Isaac took a breath stopping himself from going anymore off topic and watched the boy again waiting for a response. .: WEARING:.

Kodi listened to Isaac's rant. He didn't mind at all. In fact, the speedy way that he was talking about his summer got him excited to tell the blonde how his summer went as well. Kodi never really liked doritos, so trying the disgusting flavor wouldn't be an issue. Though the waterpark and the beach sounded really fun. He wished his summer had been as fun. However, that wasn't the case. Yet he still enjoyed it, and in the end, that was what really mattered. He didn't particularly need to go to a waterpark, and he didn't need to go to the beach. Besides, he'd burn easily thanks to his pale skin.
He laughed when Isaac was done talking. "You're such a spazz, you know that?" he said. Of course, he totally meant it as an affectionate term between friends. Just because one friend called another friend a loser didn't mean that they meant it to be snotty, and Kodi wasn't trying to be either. "But that sounds totally epic. I've never really eaten that many doritos, but at least I know to stay away from those kind, you know? I suppose I shouldn't have eaten a bowl of ice cream. But oh well. At least this way I can talk to you with the same kind of spazness!" he said, grinning like a total idiot. That was something that Kodi was good at. Grinning like an idiot. It was probably because he was an idiot, but it didn't matter to him much.
"I think you're hair got a little longer. It looks nice that way. Are you gonna cut it?" he questioned, before he pulled a strand of his own hair infront of his face to guage if his had grown much over the summer. When he dicided that it hadn't done much of anything, he huffed and turned around completely in his seat to face Isaac. "You can sit down. It might make this a little more easier." he said, grinning again. He remembered when he had first met Isaac during one of his sugar hypes. Yet the boy was still more hyper than he was. He had left an impression in his mind though, as he hadn't met anyone who had as much energy as Isaac had. But that just meant that they would be good friends.
"This summer I went to South Carolina! I met some of my cousins that I didn't know I had. But they were on my dad's side so they were all blond haired blue eyed people, and they seemed totally perfect. There was Savanna, Samantha, James and John. They kinda looked down on me at first because I look like I could be emo, but once they got to know me we got to be really good friends. It was really, really cool. We went to Macey's and went up and down the escelator for hours." he said, making wild hand motions. Yes, the summer was certainly fun.
