ORIGINAL OR CANON: Original
FACE CLAIM: Gaspard Ulliel
HEIGHT: 5'9
WEIGHT: 159 pounds.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: He has a very thick accent and doesn't speak very good English.
PHYSICAL APPEARENCE:Rugged good looks packaged into a compact form, his dark eyes glitter with intrigue and the pale face contrasts sharply with the rest of him. A lean fellow, he takes care of himself, keeping his teeth brushed and his dark chocolate hair combed. There seems to be an almost obsessive neatness about him, from the straightness of his tie to the clipped edges of his hair. It's clear that while he keeps himself in shape he doesn't spend a lot of time in the direct sun - the skin proves that. There is never any stubble or five o'clock shadow. He won't allow that. However, there does seem to be a flaw he can't get rid of, a little ticking nervous habit that he manages to hide from all but the closest of friends - he bites his knuckles, and the marks are there, little nicks in the skin. Stressed? Apparently.
CLOTHING STYLE:He dresses practically, not understanding this American fascination with 'showing off' by a peacock wardrobe. His clothes are simple but custom tailored at times - he isn't into fashion, but he won't deny himself comfort if he can afford it. A tie, button up shirts, dress pants, nice shoes. He likes to dress presentably, but that doesn't mean he can't relax. Tight fit jeans and a t-shirt are as low as it gets, and even the shirts are custom. Maybe he doesn't know how to relax? It won't be long before some cute girl ruffles his hair and forces him into some sweat pants, but until then ... well. Sorry.
LIKES: America has done things to Dimitri, and not all of them good. He has discovered the joys of mixing drinks, both alcoholic and non, and that when a girl plays hard to get, it can be kind of cute. However, he's got an urge to learn, to swallow as much information as he can. Studying eats up a lot of his time. His curiosity has led him to be a bit on the stalkerish side, as he enjoys analyzing the behavior of the 'strange Americans' he now resides among. While exploring the campuses of various schools, he's discovered a fondness for Tennis. There are so many techniques, so many weird situations. He also enjoys basement, table ping pong and bacchi ball.
DISLIKES: Trusting, Having His Picture Taken, Basketball, Fast Food, Having 'Friends' Over.
STRENGTHS: His paranoia makes him cautious, his is rather quick on his feet, and has an almost photographic memory.
WEAKNESSES: Not as strong as he is fast, untrusting, claustrophobic, traumatized.
GOALS: To become a behavior profiler for the FBI or the Russian government and to learn at least two more languages.
FEARS: He has a fear of failing and a fear of caterpillars.
HABITS: Biting his knuckles when he is stressed and he tends to comb his hair about ten times a day.
OVERALL PERSONALITY:Due to his past his untrusting and sometimes untrustworthy. He's paranoid, and if he thinks you're up to something ... well, that's it. Being betrayed is something he is unwilling to go through again. He gets easily claustrophobic and suspicious. He was raised to be honest, sometimes a little ... too much. Blunt? Yes. His accent is very thick, and he often pretends to be a bit of a dummy.

HISTORY:Dimitri was born and, up until the last couple of years, raised in Derbent, Russia. His father worked as a small town doctor and takes a train to stay in Baku, working as a psychologist for the 'stressed civilians'. As a child Dimitri showed interest in letters, tracing them with his finger and carrying around the newspaper when he could walk. Although relatively quiet, he could talk up a storm if he felt up to it. The Sakalov household didn't keep a television, but they have a small radio that remained on nearly twenty four hours a day, playing whatever happened to be on. Dimitri would frequently fiddle with the dials, jerking the volume up sporadically, resulting in a loss of hearing. When Dimitri was three, his sister Nikita was born. The newest member of the family fascinated him, and at times they had to be separated - he didn't understand that the wailing, screaming sound meant she was probably in pain, or at least upset. Even in his toddler years he showed a bit of a rebellious nature, trying to see how far he could push his boundaries. His curiosity was endless - did dirt taste good? What happened if you grabbed a dog's tail while it was trying to wag it? Fifteen stitches and a several colds later he discovered that germs were nasty and doctors were mean.
Dimitri lived a relatively normal life. His school years were a bit hard on him - his growth spurt had a bit of a late start, leaving him picked on. It didn't take long for Dimitri to realize he would have to do something to defend himself. One fantastic thing about being an utter geek meant he learned a lot of supposably useless knowledge. Some of his tricks (sand in the eyes) were rather cowardly and got him into trouble, but Dimitri would have rather spent time in detention rather than at home with a busted nose. When Dimitri wasn't writing on his desk in detention, he was scraping out words on his bedroom wall, which naturally extended his period of grounding. In the second year of high school, Dimitri befriend a anti-social, slightly disturbed young man named Alex Craig. The pair got into quite a deal of trouble, and Alex attempted to teach Dimitri English while learning Russian himself. When Dimitri's parents divorced, the pair grew closer than ever. Alex himself was a student studying abroad, living in an apartment in town, and at times Dimitri spent days, just to get out of his own house.
In October, everything changed. Dimitri has noticed how rather distant Alex is being. At one point, he followed him home from a distance, being in a lazy mood and unwilling to chase after him. When he reached the apartment, Alex wasn't anywhere to be found - even though Dimitri was sure he'd seen Alex enter the apartment. He tossed his stuff on the couch he'd been using as a bed for the last few nights and walked around. After a bit he noticed the hall closet had been left open, and that several coats had been knocked into the floor. He'd always thought it funny - Alex never wore any of those coats. Frowning, Dimitri picked one up and started to put it back when he noticed something rather odd.
The wall was a false one, and hadn't been put back just right. Dimitri, more puzzled than anything, reached for it. At that moment, it moved, and Alex appeared in the space. For a moment Dimitri was just glad to see him, but then he noticed the blood. Alex was in it up to his elbows, dried blood. The fresh bit was just across his fingers and up the back of his hand. Dimitri didn't think - he ran. Something hit him in the back of the head, and he blacked out. For two days he sat in Alex's hidden room and waited to die. Eventually a search party was sent for him, and Alex's place was upended. The first time they missed him. Alex, increasingly paranoid and unnerved, left Dimitri with enough drugs in him to sedate a cow and ran for it.
Two weeks after being caught, they found the panel. Besides Dimitri, there was a mangled corpse buried in the corner, what was left of a girlfriend who had come to find Alex and bring him home. It took Dimitri months of rehab to recover from his addiction to the drug Alex had put him on, and even longer to piece together his broken mind. The betrayal hit him hard, and Dimitri is reluctant to trust again. He has become paranoid and a bit skittish, but his experience has put in an urge to keep the same from happening to others. Dimitri has moved overseas to study and learn with experts, to become part of the BAU in the FBI - the behavioral analysis unit.
But whoever said he recovered completely?
