Before being shipped off to his aunt and uncle's house by his motherfucking parents, Murdoc was obnoxious, crude and skeezy. And the relocation to Trenton has changed very little of that. Upon first glance, he comes off as a bastard: abrasive, sarcastic and angry very much of the time. However, after you get to know him a little bit more, he acts just the same way. There's no facade with Murdoc. He is what he is, and screw you if you don't fucking like it. You don't have to talk to him if you don't want to, and much of the time, he'd downright prefer you just didn't. So maybe you shouldn't. However, if you find verbal abuse and humiliation amusing and fun to be around, go right ahead. Murdoc is the guy for you. He's the guy you'll picture rubbing his hands together, a crooked smirk on his face as he calmly requests for you to step into his office which also happens to be down a creepy dark alley. Known as the guy who'll do just about anything for quick buck, Murdoc is the guy who will do just about anything for a quick buck.
Just ask his parents, because the whole goddamn reason Murdoc's even in Trenton is because of his tendency to get into businesses that are less than honest. Strike one was the police dragging him home when he was thirteen. They didn't know why he was walking around at 3 AM, but it wasn't allowed for teenagers to be doing so, and his parents could probably deal with him well enough that it would never happen again. Murdoc never told them what he'd been doing, and had deleted the quick texts informing the person he was going to go meet to go the fuck home, because Murdoc wouldn't be relieving him of the ounce of weed he'd been planning to sell to anyone willing to buy. He was only glad he hadn't been caught on the way back home.
Murdoc got craftier. Drug dealing was for cunts who were willing to pussyfoot around actually using their intellect. And besides, Murdoc had never dabbled in drugs. He never drank, never smoked, never did anything besides sell the shit. And what was the fun in that? It wasn't that he wanted to do any of it, but at the same time, he wan't going to risk getting caught for a hell of a bunch of weed that he wasn't even going to use. So, strikes two and three were the times he came home with over three thousand dollars, won from the bets he'd rigged in underground fighting arenas. Murdoc didn't participate. Oh no. He was better than that. But a little manipulation never hurt anybody, right? Well. It hadn't never hurt Murdoc, and that was always the justification for his crimes. If he didn't get hurt, what did he care?
Of course, his parents were none too happy. So they shipped the sixteen year old off to Trenton to live with his father's sister, her husband and their three daughters, Clare, Catherine and Catelynn. Being an only child, Murdoc was stunned to find himself sharing a bathroom with his cousins, or needing to allow other people to watch the TV as well. It took him a little while in order to get used to it, and even after he was used to it, he didn't particularly enjoy it. Listening to Catelynn's incessant whining about her boyfriend was awful enough, and the day couldn't be complete without Clare's obnoxious opinions about practically everything. Murdoc did his best to keep away from the three of them, which was tough, considering Catherine was in the same grade as he was, and tougher still that his aunt and uncle had him on a leash so tight he could hardly breathe. But he found his ways, because Murdoc always finds his ways. He was back into gambling, reaping thousands of dollars from rigged fights that he kept secret and all to himself.
