The lack of reaction made Aedden want to tear his blonde hair right out of his scalp. If there was one thing he hated about his victims, it was the times where they didn't react when he had been so sure they would. If it had been anyone else, he was sure they would have broken down with his last words. But Jacob, he either really didn't give a shit, or he was really good at supressing his emotions. The only other person he knew who wouldn't react to harsh words like that was himself. Or his father. His father was a heartless bastard. The one time he had ever tried to contact his father after leaving, his dad had played the same words, continuing the harsh insults that had broken him down when he was a child. Jonathan Channing was an awful man. Aedden would never do something like that to his own child.
Aedden blocked it out of his head, but a little voice from the back of his mind whispered that he was just like his father. He used words to tear people down, resorting only to violence when his point didn't get across. The only difference was that he targetted people who were not related to him. He still targetted people who were younger than him, more defenseless. But Aedden refused to believe that he was like his father. Jonathan had done it for no reason, just to hurt someone. He did it for a reason, to keep himself in the high ranks of popularity in Trenton. A lot of people would say that was a stupid reason to hurt someone. But without friends, Aedden was absolutely nothing. He had been a kid that only spoke when spoken to, and spent hours staring at nothing. He hadn't eaten, barely slept, and was haunted with nightmares. He needed friends to keep him going. He didn't want to fall back into the hole he had finally escaped.
Aedden hadn't expected the other boy to jump out of the way, and he stumbled a few steps before regaining his balance. There was a good distance between them now, which frusterated him to no end. What was the best way to get to Jacob? If he lunged again, it would be even easier for the other boy to just jump out of the way once again. He had two options. "You haven't seemed to learn that nothing is too low for me, Jacob." He smiled once again. Yes, he was aware that he just insulted himself. But it also made him slightly more terrifying, because jacob now knew that there wasn't much that he wouldn't do to accomplish his goal.
There were two ways he could get to Jacob, at least in his mind. He could run, launching himself at the other boy. It would become a race, and whoever was fast would win. Aedden was clearly in better shape than the other boy, so he would most likely win. But he really didn't want to chase the boy around the park for who knows how long. Which was why he hoped the second plan would work. If he just slowly stepped forward, Jacob would most likely step back. He wouldn't turn to look behind him, because he wouldn't want to take his eye off of Aedden. At least, that was what he hoped. So if he backed Jacob up enough, he would trip over Trash Girl, or the trash bags that were piled near her. Once he tripped, Aedden couild run, and grab him easily. He just hoped it worked. He began to walk towards Jacob slowly, with a look of amusement on his face. "You can't run for long Jacob."
